If the passcode option isn't visible at the top of your page, select More () > Reset Passcode. Select the device that needs a passcode reset. Saying it's greatly limited is fair and its definitely not ideal for corporate environments, but it's not because it's a Registered device and just because it's Home. Open the Company Portal website and select the Menu button > Devices. Being joined or registered doesnt actually change that, with the exceptions of the few policies that requires Joined devices (ie: Silent Bitlocker) You can absolutely push Intune policies to Azure AD Registered devices enrolled in MDM. However you CAN add a Work or School account and you can get your device enrolled in Intune as an Azure AD Registered device. I think you are connecting together some things that arent connected at all. Make sure you have Intune enabled as well. Is AutoPilot enabled? Is there any existing policies already created? Additionally, you might need to create a Security Resource Group to attach to end users profile memberships.

Weird thing is the Microsoft account option doesn't accept a work or school account it wants a personal Microsoft account.
